A rare high quality 8 day burr ash Viennese regulator of by Anton Mayer, circa 1850

Beautiful burr ash veneers used throughout the case, inlaid with boxwood stringing.

Original glazing to the front and sides.

The original finely carved pediment and matching carved finial to the base.

The one piece enamel dial with the makers name "Anton Mayer in Wien" signed to the dial centre.

Beautifully cast, piecrust bezel.

Very fine and delicate blued steel hands

Superb quality 8 day regulator time piece movement, with sliding beat adjustment.

Brass faced, to both sides, pendulum bob with ebonised rod.

Brass cased weight and spoke pulley.

A very fine and rare clock, in excellent original condition.

Anton Mayer - Working in the city if Vienna from 1835. Registered as a master clockmaker of small clocks in the city of Vienna - not registered after 1869.
