Regulators were used in Observatories, large country houses, clock workshops and retailers premises. Longcase Regulator ClocksRefinements to the movements included maintaining power, a spring device to keep the clock going whilst winding, jewelled movements, deadbeat escapement and sophisticated compensated pendulums.
