Fine quality mahogany 8 day domestic regulator longcase clock.

The well proportioned case of typical Edinburgh design with architectural pediment topped hood, shaped trunk and panelled base.

The lift off glazed trunk door, flanked by the unusual feature seen on high quality Edinburgh clocks, of mercurial stick barometer and alcohol thermometer with silvered and engraved scale plates, signed DW Laird Leith.

The circular silvered dial, with makers name to the centre.

Fine quality 8 day regulator movement with deadbeat escapement and maintaining power, striking the hours on a single bell.

Blued steel hands.

Heavy white marble bob pendulum with scaled rating nut and two cylindrical brass weights and spoke brass pulleys.
